
2022 AILA Awards – VIC Future Leaders Student Georgina de Beaujeu
The Live+Smart Research Laboratory, School of Architecture & Built Environment and Deakin Sustainable Health Network wish to congratulate Georgina de Beaujeu for her 2022 AILA VIC Future Leader Award recognition. Georgina’s contributions span advocacy, academia, volunteering, and artistic endeavours, all aimed at exploring and elevating the role of landscape architecture in responding to the climate and biodiversity crisis. Georgina’s Ph.D. (co-sponsored by Tract Consultants) asks “What potential is there to create co-benefits for urban nature and people in existing residential neighbourhoods experiencing densification in Australia?”. Georgina has just received Confirmation of Candidature and secured a Council partner in NSW.

“Through Georgina’s expansive efforts across disciplines and commitment to ongoing study, she exemplifies landscape architecture advocacy and has demonstrated initiatives that raise the profile of the profession. Georgina’s projects are a rigorous response to the climate and biodiversity crisis, and she continues to be a key collaborator with practitioners in policy discussion, as well as volunteering in service of addressing and elevating the role of landscape architecture.”
